IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET AND DISAPPOINTMENT THAT I HAVE TO ANNOUNCE THE CANCELLATION OF OUR 40TH REUNION DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST AND COMMITMENT, I DO THIS BECAUSE, AS OF TODAY AUGUST 2, 2011 WE HAVE ONLY 23 PEOPLE PAID AND NEED 100 TO BREAK EVEN. I CAN NOT TAKE THE CHANCE AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A $750.00 ROOM CHARGE AND I DIDN'T FEEL IT WOULD BE FAIR FOR THOSE THAT HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO TAKE A CHANCE WITH THEIR MONEY AND HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. WE HAVE A GREAT WEB SITE AND I WAS THRUST INTO TRYING TO UPDATE IT AND KEEP EVERYONE INFORMED. I MUST HAVE FAILED SORRY BUT I AM NOT A COMPUTER EXPERT. ALSO, THIS COMES ABOUT EVERY FIVE YEARS AND EVERYONE SAY THAT THEY ARE COMING OR ARE WILLING TO HELP BUT IT ENDS UP WITH THE SAME FEW PEOPLE. IF ANYBODY WANTS TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT SAY IN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

More than a 'One Night Stand'
Our 40th Class Reunion is really starting to take shape and to help make this into a "reunion to remember," we are planning to organize mini-events and other activities throughout the long holiday weekend.
So far, other than the Main Event, we have focused on some sort of gathering for Friday night - like a private get-together at one of the local watering holes - possibly Dimillo's Restaurant & Lounge (aka: das Boot), if the price is right (we're talking about a separate room just for us). After 40 years of drifting apart, the thinking is that it was time we got to spend a bit more time with our fellow classmates. Think of it as an opportunity to get accustomed to how old everyone else looks . . . a reality check, so to speak. And for those who have no pride, be sure to bring your AARP card to get your senior citizen discount!
